Cascade Software Systems, Eugene                   9/1999-10/2008

Systems Administrator, Analyst, Support, Program Development & Deployment

Designed and implemented a deployment system to for self installation, but also maintain updates.  The deployment program has a couple of stages.  One, all files are shipped as packages (compressed into a zip files), then the client uses an installation program to transfer files to their system based on the shipped package.  Once the package is installed, if any files are in use and cannot be installed, then a service program is used to continue to complete the installation during off net hours.

Responsible for maintaining connectivity of existing systems and creating new components. This software is written in Delphi 5.0-8.0, Java Enterprising techniques, Pervasive (Btrieve), and PERL.

Many of the users require some level of administrative privilege, so I designed remote software that would take advantage of these network areas, while protecting more sensitive parts of the network. In addition to my administrative duties, I was responsible for design and implementation of the corporate Intranet. The Intranet has both index service and search engine capabilities for information sharing benefits.
